Built in the 1880s, the 83 South Main exterior retains the look and feel of historic downtown Harrisonburg. The interior however, has been completely reconstructed, remodeled and updated to include spaces for urban lofts on the second, third and fourth floors, and Kline-May Realty and the Wilson Downtown Gallery on the ground floor.
The Harrisonburg Downtown Historic District is a National Historic District. The district encompasses 161 contributing buildings, 1 contributing structure, and 2 contributing objects in the central business district. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.
